Character information.
• Character name: Anthony Edward Stark
• Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
• Canon point: AU of Avengers Endgame where Tony lives but it heavily scarred and blind in his right eye.
• Age: 54
• Canon background: marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Iron_Man
• OC world information: N/A
• Abilities:
Genius level Intellect: Tony Stark is a genius on par with Steve Jobs though Tony would consider Mr. Jobs and anything Apple created subpar or out of date as soon as it hits the stores. He is proud of both his work with the Avengers and at Stark Industries and enjoys spending hours and days creating in his lab trying to think of new technology to make the world a better place.
Flying: When wearing the Iron Man suit, Tony can fly at Mach 3, hover and come to a quick stop. He can also carry at least one person.
Superhuman Strength: When wearing the Iron Man suit, Tony can carry twice his own body weight, hold up large masses of Earth and carry and toss cars and trucks.
AI Friday: Tony and the Iron Man suit go nowhere without Friday. The Irish sounding AI is Tony's sounding board and general advice giver as well as running both the suit and Tony's home.
• Strengths:
Charming: His social nature makes Tony very charismatic and charming able to draw people like Bruce Banner out of their shells and into real life. He knows when to encourage a friend and most of the time he also knows when to back off. Not only is Tony good at drawing people to him, he is very extroverted needing people surrounding him when he isn’t working. He receives validation and acceptance by acting the way he thinks his friends want him to act no matter if he is comfortable with the action or not
Tactical: Tony is very good at reading people when he can take a step back and close his mouth long enough to observe someone. When a situation calls for quick thinking, Tony can assess a situation using his technical knowledge and formulate a plan in a matter of seconds using not only his own intellect, but the information from his suit’s artificial intelligence. He is also very good at multi-tasking able to take in and process a large amount of information in a matter of seconds whereas it might take someone else several minutes to do the same thing.
Brave: While Steve once told Tony that he wasn't the man to make the sacrifice play, Tony is consistently the hero willing and able to make the hard choices when it comes to the end of the line. Tony willingly jumps into situations where he shouldn’t like taking on a focused Bucky Barnes with nothing but one Iron Man gauntlet and his own wits. He is the hero who made a metal suit in a cave with a box of scraps and faced down Thanos carrying the power of all six infinity stones not once but twice winning the final battle with a snap of his fingers and those same stones.
• Weaknesses:
Stubbornness: Tony is stubborn to a fault. He won't back down even when he knows he's wrong and he's willing to risk a fight with a friend in order to stick to his guns. This can tend to make people think he comes across as selfish and cruel. And in tense situations or highly emotional ones, Tony is quick to anger because of his pride and more willing to think with his heart and his fists rather than with his head. A prime example of this is the fight between himself, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes at the end of Civil War.
Self-Centered: Tony's biggest weakness is his ego, because he has been raised to think he is above everyone else and been praised for his work, Tony believes that he can do no wrong. Tony also is very good at pretending he doesn’t care what people think of him. He’ll laugh off cruel remarks, mock super villains on national TV and even walk away from people he thinks have stupid ideas no matter how much it might hurt them. Giving his home address to the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 is a good example of this weakness.
Workaholic: Tony doesn't know when to stop working. When he's stressed, angry, or frustrated he hides in his work often leaving his friends to do the more adult tasks he needs to do himself. When he's on a tinkering jag, work is everything even more than food or sleep sometimes. Work is Tony’s comfort blanket and he often gets frustrated when he can’t work or hides the fact, he’s working on a project almost like a drug addict hides their addiction. It’s the only way Tony found to deal with his post traumatic stress and he can’t handle his work taken away.
• Nightmares:
Fear of Failure: One of the things Tony has always tried to do is prepare the Earth for the larger battles he knows are coming. The worst thing Tony faces every day is letting the innocent people he's trying to protect. He came face to face with this when Thanos arrived and caused the Snap.
Death of Loved Ones: Tony was once shown a vision of all his friends dying and it was the worst thing he was ever forced to witness. What was so horrible was that Tony himself survived despite everything.
Loneliness: Tony is terrified of being the only hero left alone. To him that means he failed to save those he loved when they needed him most. It also hurts his playboy heart to think he is so unlovable that no one, family or friends would stay with him.
